A Natural-Born Artist
Beverly Basham has been a fan of the great outdoors all her life. Walks in the woods with family members, spotting wildlife and various plant life kept her interested in nature.
"I have always had a love of the outdoor world, from family walks in the woods to field studies in college. I wanted to have nature around me, and being as we lived in the city, our trips to the forest were the only outlet for my love of being outdoors. I combined my love of nature and art in college, where I graduated with a biology degree and a fine arts degree. What to do with such a diverse education? Wildlife art, of course!"
Beverly is a member of the Oil Painters Society of America and the Association of Miniature Artists. She is the chairman of the Southern Wildlife Festival in Decatur, Alabama and has been a committee member for twenty years. She has received honors and awards and has judged art shows including the Alabama Wildlife Federation in 2010 and the Morgan County Fair Art Show.
